Terms & EULA

These terms are the agreement between you and MIDI Genie (“we”, “us”) for using the MIDI Genie plugin. By buying, installing or using it, you agree to them.

1. Your licence

When you buy MIDI Genie, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it on up to 2 computers that you own or control, for as long as you like, including for commercial music. The licence key is for you alone.

You may not:

• share, sell, rent or publish your licence key, or the software itself;
• copy, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer MIDI Genie, or extract its interface, prompts or other parts of it, except where the law allows this regardless of these terms;
• work around the licence check, or build a competing product from MIDI Genie or its parts.

2. Beta software

MIDI Genie is currently in beta (version 0.9). It is tested in FL Studio on macOS, but it may contain bugs, and features may change. Save your DAW projects regularly.

3. Updates

Your purchase includes every update released within 1 year of your purchase date. Every version released during that year keeps working for as long as you like, including after the year ends. Updates released after your year may require renewing your updates.

4. Your AI provider

MIDI Genie works with an API key you get from a third-party provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, or one you configure). You are responsible for:

• following that provider's terms and usage policies;
• paying that provider for what you use. The cost estimates MIDI Genie shows are guides, not guarantees;
• keeping your key secure.

We do not control those providers, and we are not responsible for their availability, output, pricing or changes to their service.

5. What you make

As between you and us, you own the MIDI you create with MIDI Genie, and you may use it in your music, commercially or otherwise, without crediting us. AI-generated material may be similar to existing music or to what other people generate, and in some places it may not be protected by copyright. We make no promise that output is unique or free of third-party rights, and it is your responsibility to check your music before you release it.

Do not use MIDI Genie to imitate or copy specific copyrighted works.

6. Files you attach

Only attach MIDI, audio or other material you have the right to use. Attached files are processed on your computer and, where needed, sent to your AI provider as described in our privacy policy.

7. No warranty

To the extent the law allows, MIDI Genie is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms affects consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, lost projects, lost profits, or charges from your AI provider. Our total liability for any claim relating to MIDI Genie is limited to the amount you paid for it.

9. Ending the licence

If you break these terms, your licence ends and you must stop using MIDI Genie. If you receive a refund, your licence key is deactivated.

10. Purchases

Purchases are processed by Polar, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record and handles payment, tax and invoices. See our refund policy.

11. Changes and law

We may update these terms. The version in force when you bought applies to that purchase unless you agree otherwise. These terms are governed by the laws of the country where MIDI Genie is based.
